Select One Tour Option When You Book Using the Form Below
AI: Artistic Interpretations, Studio Art Quilt Associates
Explore the unexpected relationship between quilt making and artificial intelligence. This tour invites reflection on human craft, machine processes, and the future of artistic expression. Discussion topics include how AI is changing the way art is made and understood; the value of human-made versus machine-made work; and what it means to create in an age when machines can produce content quickly and with little human effort. The exhibition offers a chance to slow down and thoughtfully engage with a rapidly evolving field. This tour can be adapted for all ages.
Daphnis and Chloé and Other Lovers: Lithographs by Marc Chagall
This tour focuses on the process, influences, and themes behind Marc Chagall’s ambitious lithograph series inspired by an ancient Greek romance. Discussion topics include the relationship between literature and visual art, how an artist’s use of color can function as a narrative tool, and how Chagall participates in a long tradition of artists drawing inspiration from classical texts. Please note: This exhibition includes some nudity. Parents and educators are encouraged to review the exhibition and use their discretion before scheduling a tour.
Seeing Like an Artist: The Building Blocks of Visual Art
This tour introduces the basic elements and principles of design, including line, shape, color, and composition. Using works from current exhibitions and the museum’s permanent collection, participants will build observation and critical thinking skills through guided group discussion.
Art and Creative Writing
Combine the visual and the verbal in a tour designed to spark the imagination. Participants respond to artworks through poetry, storytelling, or descriptive writing, deepening their engagement with visual art through personal expression. Best suited for ages 10+.
