The LSU Museum of Art and LSU Vet Med share a love a wellness, art, and animals! Since January, the museum and the vet school have teamed up for a monthly Art Break for All series. LSU Educator and Public Programs Manager Callie Smith takes art supplies to the Vet School for an hour of artmaking and fun. She designed this program in partnership with Kayla Baudoin, Wellbeing Manager at LSU Vet Med, and Sandra Sarr, LSU Vet Med Communications Manager.
The goal of the monthly program is to give all students, residents, staff, and faculty affiliated with the Vet School a chance to take a much-needed breather from the responsibilities of saving animal lives. The Vet Med community is responding with open arms! During February's program, a group of students walked in and said, "We need this! We had a stressful morning and have an exam this afternoon."
In addition to this monthly partnership, the Vet School and the museum are teaming up for the April 6 Access for All event celebrating the animal characters of Golden Books. From 2-3pm, student leaders for the Raptor Rehabilitation program will be here with live bird ambassadors. Come be creative, meet these remarkable animals, and meet our new friends on campus collaborators!
